NAIFA's Limited & Extended Care Planning Center

The LECP Center empowers professionals to network with solution and service providers to share best practices, directly access subject matter experts, research, training and resources; and provide thought leadership so we may continue to address the changing needs of the market.

Marjorie Skubic, Ph.D. Center Director for the Center for Eldercare and Rehabilitation Technology at Missouri University shares her presentation on the latest technology advances in eldercare.

Marjorie's current research projects are focused on understanding and using sensor signals. In particular, investigating computational intelligence techniques for studying real-time sensory perception and interactive human-machine interfaces, and applying them to robotics (especially human-robot interaction), spatial referencing interfaces, gait analysis, and now eldercare and rehabilitation. The Center is especially interested in proactive healthcare models, which include early detection of health changes and screening tools to detect high risk of injury.
